Year 4
Welcome to the Armstrong class page!
Mr Holmes is our teacher and Mrs Farrow, Miss Stocks and Miss Baker are our Teaching Assistants.
The Year 4 teaching team are super excited to begin our new year, and we have a lot of thrilling topics to cover during your time with us.
Reading, as always, will play a huge part in our learning. As a class, we’ll be reading fiction, non-fiction and poetry ranging from traditional tales to modern adventures. Be ready to share your thoughts and opinions with your classmates about all the texts we read.
In Geography, we’ll be learning all about a special region in Italy called Campania. Exploring landmarks, mountains, volcanoes and all that makes the Campania region of Italy significant.
In History, we’ll be delving back in time to learn all about the Roman Empire and the impact it had on the world as we know it today. Be ready to bring all you’ve learnt in your history lessons in Year 3, so we can make those valuable links between different points in time.
Our Y4 learning journey in Science will begin with Biology and the study of living things. We’ll be spending time at Roots, gaining practical experience, conducting experiments and classifying creatures. As the year progresses, our focus will be on physics, looking closely at the subjects of sound and electricity.
Time tables will be a massive priority in Year 4, so we can look forward to competitions and challenges throughout the year!
