Proud to be part of

Future Fridays Assemblies

At our school, we believe in inspiring our pupils by exposing them to a world of possibilities. One Friday a month, our students will have the chance to meet surprise visitors from diverse professional backgrounds. These guests will showcase careers linked to science, design and technology, and computing, providing our pupils with a unique and engaging learning experience.

Expanding Horizons and Raising Aspirations

Our goal is to broaden the horizons of our pupils and raise their aspirations. By introducing them to a wide array of jobs, roles, and careers, we aim to ignite their curiosity and show them the vast range of possibilities open to them. Whether it’s engineering, programming, design, or space exploration, we want our students to dream big and pursue their passions.

Challenging Gender Stereotypes

We are committed to challenging gender stereotypes about jobs and school subjects. By featuring professionals from diverse backgrounds and fields, we hope to inspire all our pupils, regardless of gender, to explore interests and career paths they might not have previously considered. We believe that every child should have the opportunity to pursue their dreams, free from the constraints of outdated stereotypes.

Exciting Guests So Far

Our initiative has already seen some fantastic guests:

- Grace Webb from BBC’s Grace’s Amazing Machines: Grace spoke to our Year 1 and 2 pupils about different types of vehicles, sparking excitement and curiosity about engineering and mechanics.
- AMP Rose in Gainsborough: Our Year 6 students learnt about mechanisms related to their Design and Technology project, gaining hands-on insights into the fascinating world of manufacturing and engineering.
- A Representative from the Lincoln Air and Space Institute Programme: Year 5 students delved into the wonders of space through an engaging talk that complemented their space unit, inspiring dreams of future careers in aerospace and technology.

Looking Forward

We are excited about the future of this program and the many more inspiring guests who will visit our school. Each visit is an opportunity for our pupils to learn, grow, and be inspired. We look forward to seeing the impact this initiative will have on our students’ aspirations and understanding of the world of work.
